Maybe people are tired of subscriptions. I call it app subscription fatigue. Are we witnessing the same thing with monthly streaming video subscriptions?
Piper Jaffray stated that its surveys show that roughly 75 percent of Netflix subscribers do not intend to subscribe to either Apple TV+ or Disney+ (via CNBC). On the other hand, the majority of those who do subscribe to Apple TV+ or Disney+ also plan to maintain their Netflix subscription
Let’s think about that a moment. Apple TV+ is not here yet. Disney+ is not here yet. Does that not make the survey– as is the case with most surveys and polls– lame?
Most people won’t subscribe to Apple TV+
I asked 10 people at work. Seven of them said no. That’s most people. Margin of error is probably 100-percent, though. All of them asked, “What’s Apple TV+?”
Put it another way:
30-percent of American TV watchers want Apple TV+
Even if they don’t know what it is. They like Apple.
